When vacationing in
Nova Scotia, one should make every effort to be on the western side,
on the Bay of Fundy, to see the tidal bore come rolling in. Our July
trip schedule included a single overnight stay in Digby where the anticipated
tidal bore time was 3:20 AM. When our alarm shattered our sleep and
I stumbled to the window of our hotel room to open the drapes I was
greeted with one of the most fantastic sunrises I've ever seen and captured
it on film. But, alas, the elusive tidal bore had already rolled in
and Digby Harbor was filled with shimmering water, the beauty of the
magnificent sunrise doubled by its reflection on the surface of the
bay.
