Universe" aptly describes Fort Foster in Kittery Point, Maine.
This large park, located on an island in Portsmouth Harbor, offers several
parking areas with different and wonderful scenery at each and a hiking
trail that loops around the outside of the park to connect all of the
areas. The scuba divers' beach is at the northeast end of the park and,
despite some pesky greenheads, is a wonderfully isolated place to relax
and listen to the gentle surf and the birds and restore a sense of calm
to one's hectic life!
