The shoreline at Fort
Foster Park in Kittery, ME is rugged and rocky, and a gravel path winds
along the edge of park from one end to the other. At one point, near
where the Piscataqua meets the ocean, stands a single tree which towers
above the rocks and grasses, seemingly imitating Whaleback Light as
sentinel to the harbor.
